Tasks – Where Exchange and SharePoint used to meet

By | 2014-09-11

Screen Shot 2014-09-11 at 10.58.32Today I received a note from Office 365 stating that the Tasks Page is going to be removed.

“We will be deprecating the My Tasks page in SharePoint Online over the coming weeks. This page was available on a user’s personal site (About Me > Tasks). If you would like to continue using the My Tasks page, please see the Additional Information link below.

Additionally, the Sync to Outlook button on a SharePoint tasks list will be removed at a later date. If you are currently syncing a SharePoint tasks list to Outlook, you can continue doing so for one year.” (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2998445 for ‘more’ info)

It seems the entire Sync to Outlook (for Tasks) is going the way of the dodo. To me this was a powerful feature for myself and for my current customer(s). Too bad.

Hopefully we wil get something in return that is even beter.
